A minimum of 5 years of experience in overseeing, coordinating mechanical/architectural/building construction projects and developments. A university degree or technical diploma in engineering, architecture, project management or construction management is an asset. However, demonstrated experience will be accepted in lieu. Project Management Professional designation (PMP) is desirable. Experience working with public sector clients would be an asset. Deep knowledge of various design and construction methodologies, project management models and financial management, as well as building codes, contract law and relevant legislation. Advanced understanding of Project Management methodologies and experience working in a Project environment. Effective client management and people management skills matched with the ability to effectively influence others and successfully resolve a variety of client and technical issues. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of scheduling (MS Project), word processing (Word), MS outlook, and spreadsheet (Excel) software applications as well as troubleshooting various IT computer problems. Ability to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability Level. Ability to manage activities of technical staff, contractors, and be able to co-ordinate activities with other levels of governments and external agencies/utilities. Able to assist in formal RFQ’s and RFP’s and able to review, analyze and recommend acceptance of proposals from construction firms.
